Acoustic minstrel Missy Higgins has announced that she will be heading out on her first Australian tour in almost two years in early 2016.
The iconic Australian singer-songwriter has announced five eastern states shows taking place over February & March of 2016, kicking things off at Taronga Zoo in Sydney on Feb 13.
She is also set to play the Riverboats Music Festival & The Peninsula Picnic in Victoria and Skyfields at Mount Roland in Tasmania.
She's being joined by Something For Kate frontman Paul Dempsey for a special one-off headlining show at Melbourne’s Hammer Hall on Feb 17.
“For the whole of this year I’ve been experiencing life as a first time Mum, and it’s been incredible, but I really can’t wait to get out of the house and play a few gigs,” Missy said in a statement.
“I’ve actually been writing a lot of songs lately so I’m looking forward to trying a few of them out at these gigs along with all the others of course. Either way, it’ll be nice to sing something other than Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for a change!”
For those of us wondering why no Brisbane or Perth shows, don't worry. Missy's teased a forthcoming announcement for her fans in Brisbane and Perth in the coming weeks, so all will be right with the world.
