It’s winter. A season full of cold rainy days where it’s best to just chill inside. But one thing that’s good about this time of year is that artists start to release some very chilled songs to help get you through.
Take this one from Matt Black, a singer/songwriter based in Sydney’s inner-west who started writing at the age of 13. A few years later, he left school to focus on a career in music.
Listening to his latest single just makes me want to drop everything, find a spot on a comfy couch in front of a massive window looking out toward a lovely rainy view. It’s just that chill.
When asked to describe his own music, Matt pretty much hit the nail on the head -
Moody, R&B-influenced, pop/soul with 808’s and a hint of Phil Collins. I want the music to soothe you and haunt you at the same time…
He’s spent time over the past few years helping out some of Australia’s urban artists, including 360, Tuka and Seth Sentry, as a side to writing and developing his own music - which we think totally rocks… well, chills.
A teaser of what’s to come, the single is available on Spotify and iTunes now.
