Say goodbye to the West Coast Blues N Roots festival.
Organisers of the festival posted a statement on Facebook yesterday letting fans know that the festival will be taking a year off in 2016 and rebranding to hopefully come back bigger and better in 2017.
"We’ve loved bringing you this event as much as we hope you’ve enjoyed it," the post on Facebook says.
"Our much beloved WCBR has undergone some what of a makeover; new concepts, a new space, with a brand new name to match."
That new name is Freo's Blues, Roots & Beyond, an attempt to try and widen its ability to book different bands and try and take advantage of the festival's unique setting in the city of Fremantle.
"Blues, Roots & Beyond encompasses all that was great about WCBR while growing the event and introducing some exciting new changes that we think you will love," the post continues.
"Passouts will be introduced, allowing the festival to filter out into the surrounding streets, music venues and hospitality spaces which will be programmed with festival talent, allowing you to come and go as you please exploring Freo’s vibrant centre."
Freo’s Blues Roots & Beyond is set to make its debut in April 2017.
