ARIA Awards Wrap!

It was a huge night at Star City in Sydney as the who's who of Australian music gathered to honour Australian acts that are doing amazing things right now.

As fellow Perthians, we are over the moon that Freo's own Tame Impala dominated on Thursday, taking home three awards, including Best Group, Best Rock Album, and took out the big one, Best Album, beating out Vance Joy and Courtney Barnett in the process!

In a great sign that you can't take Fremantle of of the boys, guitarist and vocalist Cam Avery said in the speech for best album, “Long live the Fremantle football club. Next year is our year.”

We mentioned Courtney Barnett above. Well, she also dominated, taking out three awards too, for Best Female Artist (beating Sia!), Best Independent Release and Breakthrough Artist.

Tina Arena give a stirring and emotional speech as she became a very worthy inductee into the ARIA Hall of Fame, whilst giving a fantastic rendition of her hit, 'Chains' with The Veronicas and a fangirling Jessica Mauboy!
